About Us

Batik Boutique is Malaysia’s leading premium batik lifestyle brand and an award-winning social enterprise. We create contemporary apparel, gifts, homeware, and accessories using authentic Malaysian batik handcrafted on natural fibres.

We work with batik artisans across Malaysia and tailors at our training centres to transform traditional textiles into modern designs. Through skills training and sustainable income opportunities, we help artisan communities grow while preserving Malaysia’s batik heritage.

To date, we have worked with more than 400 artisans and positively impacted over 1,700 beneficiaries. Every purchase supports the people behind our products and helps Malaysian batik reach a global audience.

our story

Batik Boutique began with a friendship between two women.

In 2009, founder Amy Blair met Ana, a single mother looking for a way to earn additional income and better support her family. Ana was a skilled seamstress, and together they began transforming Malaysian batik fabric into unique gifts for Amy’s family and friends. As word spread, so did the demand.

That simple beginning shaped the purpose behind Batik Boutique. Amy founded the company with the belief that talented artisans like Ana deserved access to fair, sustainable income and meaningful opportunities to build better futures for their families.

Today, Batik Boutique works with artisans across Malaysia to create high-quality apparel, gifts, and homeware that celebrate the beauty of Malaysian batik. Our vision is to preserve and evolve this treasured craft while economically empowering artisan communities and sharing contemporary Malaysian batik with the world.
